Solar Pool Repair FAQs

Yes. We repair Heliocol and other solar pool heating systems including leaks, valve failures, collector damage, and controller issues. Pool heating repair is part of our standard service offering throughout Southwest Florida.

The two most common causes are:

  • The solar controller is turned off. It's easy to accidentally switch the controller to the "Off" position or change the settings. Make sure the controller is set to Auto or Solar On, depending on your system.
  • A faulty temperature sensor. Your solar controller relies on roof and water temperature sensors to determine when heating is needed. If one of these sensors has failed or is giving inaccurate readings, the system may not activate even when conditions are ideal.

Heliocol® solar pool heating systems do not require annual maintenance, unlike many other solar pool heating brands that recommend periodic servicing.

While routine maintenance isn't necessary, we do recommend having your system professionally inspected after any major storm, hurricane, or high-wind event. A system evaluation can identify damaged panels, loose mounting hardware, leaks, or other issues before they become more costly repairs.

Not necessarily. While a leak is possible—especially as your solar pool heating system ages—water loss is often caused by natural evaporation rather than a plumbing or solar system issue.

When warm pool water is exposed to cool air, wind, or low humidity, evaporation can increase significantly. This is especially common during cooler nights, windy conditions, or when the pool is being heated.

Yes! If your pool is equipped with an automation system, such as a Jandy Aqualink®, Pentair IntelliTouch®, EasyTouch®, or a similar controller, we can integrate your solar pool heating system into your existing automation.

Once connected, you'll be able to control your solar heating system from:

  • Your smartphone or tablet
  • A wall-mounted control panel
  • Your existing pool automation interface

This allows you to easily adjust your pool temperature, monitor system operation, and manage all of your pool equipment from one convenient location.

Solar Electric Repair FAQs

The most common signs are a higher-than-usual electric bill, a drop in production shown on your monitoring app, error codes or warning lights on your inverter, or panels that are visibly damaged. If something feels off, it usually is. A diagnostic visit will confirm whether there is a real issue and what is causing it.

Contact us for current pricing. We review your system thoroughly before recommending any repair work, and we explain exactly what we found and what it will cost to fix before anything is authorized.

Inverter error codes vary by manufacturer and can indicate anything from a minor communication glitch to a component failure. Some codes resolve on their own after a reset. Others signal a part that needs replacement. We diagnose all major inverter brands including Enphase and SolarEdge and can determine whether a repair or replacement is the right call.

This is more common than people expect. Monitoring data and actual grid interaction do not always match, particularly if there is a communication failure, a net metering issue with the utility, or a problem with how your system is reporting. We check both the technical performance and the utility billing side to find the disconnect.

In most cases, storm damage is repairable rather than requiring a full replacement. Broken collectors, damaged wiring, displaced mounting hardware, and failed components can typically be addressed individually. We assess the damage, document it for insurance purposes if needed, and recommend the most practical repair path.

Straightforward repairs such as inverter replacements or wiring fixes are often completed in a single visit. More complex issues involving multiple components, special-order parts, or electrical panel work may take longer. We give you a realistic timeline after the diagnostic inspection.

Yes. We service Tesla Powerwall, Enphase IQ Battery, and other battery storage systems. Battery faults, backup failures, communication issues, and performance drops are all within our service scope.

We prefer that someone is present so we can walk you through what we find and answer questions directly. If that is not possible, we can coordinate access to your equipment and follow up with a full written summary of findings and recommendations.

We recommend a professional inspection every three to five years under normal conditions, and after any significant storm regardless of how the system appears. Many problems develop gradually and are not visible from the ground or obvious on a monitoring dashboard. Catching them early prevents larger repair costs and keeps your system producing at full capacity.
